Our sister site, the Complete Runner, is your online source for all running and athletics shoes, clothes and accessories. You can use the links below to go directly to the department you want.
Existing customers can use our online order form to reorder their kit.
If you have already browsed our Popular Styles Section you will have seen that we can also make up one of these in your own colours. Popular Styles offer you the greatest flexibility enabling you to order in small quantities thereby reducing the outlay for your club - very important for small clubs (e.g. with less than about 40 active members).
However, more clubs are now asking us to make vests in their own distinctive design. This may be a design which the club has had for many years, and for which it has become famous. No problem: we can replicate that design using our Fastwik moisture management fabric. Alternatively, your design might be totally your own idea. We will be pleased to advise you on the practicalities and cost of making up your own design using our vest designer template.
All orders for custom designs must be for a minimum of 12 vests in total comprising at least 4 in each size for each gender. For example a minimum order might be: 4 x male 38", 4 x male 42", 4 x ladies 38" (2 x male 38" + 2 x ladies 38" does not meet these criteria).
As a guide, the cost of custom vests is determined by the number of panels which make up the design. The greater the number of panels - the greater the cost. For an indication of what costs might be please browse our Style Gallery.
The table above shows the sizes in which our vests are typically made and in which we request they are ordered (please note we do not size our vests as Small, Medium etc.) However, we can, and frequently do, make them both bigger and smaller - the latter especially for junior athletes e.g. school children. Prices for some sizes vary from our normal prices (e.g. children's vests may exclude VAT). If you require sizes which fall outside of our normal size range please email Jo Fricker or telephone her on 01943 601581.
If you have a design of your own which you would like us to make or provided a quote for we need to be able to see what it is.
The best way to do this is to download our "Vest Designer". This is simply a PDF file containing a blank vest which you can print and draw your design directly onto, and then send it back to us.
You can use the included Popular Styles templates for help and inspiration, or just draw your own distinct design from scratch.
Traditionally, running vests have been made by sewing together panels of fabric in different colours to make up the design. This is still the most popular way of manufacturing them and a the only method which many of our competitors employ.
With the advent of new technology, and the increasing desire for more distinctive and complex designs, we are pleased to have introduced a new process to facilitate these at a very reasonable cost - typically about £20.00 per vest.
Using Sublimation Printing, almost any design in any colours is possible. We have included examples of a few designs below which have been produced using the sublimation process. If you would like to know more about this highly cost effective option please contact Jo(anna) Fricker on 01943 601581 or send her an email with your requirements and she will provide you with a quote. You can see how one of these vests is made here
Producing vests using the sublimation method differs considerably in the early stages from traditionally produced vests.
The first stage of the process is to draw a computer template, exactly to scale, containing every element of the design. Each gender and each size of vest requires it’s own individual template.
While we have blank templates for each size, fitting designs precisely across the entire size range can be a fiddly and time consuming process.
For this reason it may be necessary for us to charge an initial design (set-up) fee. The following is a guide to the amounts that may apply:
|For designs where we already have a template on which only colours need to be substituted and where no additional design work is needed, there will be no charge. For example see the RAF Halton vest to the left. However, if a sample vest is requested there will be a charge of £25 – payable in advance.|
|For designs for which a new template has to be created a charge of up to £50 – payable in advance – may be made. This will include the cost of producing a sample vest for your approval bearing the design. For example see the Ware Joggers vest on the right.|
In all cases, where the initial sample is accepted by you, and where you subsequently go on to purchase the vests from us, we will credit your initial payment against your first order.
It is always of benefit in keeping design costs to a minimum (even on simple designs) if you can specify precisely what colours you want to incorporate in your design. Our sublimation process cannot precisely reproduce Pantone referenced colours so please use CMYK colour profiles if possible. (CMYK is an abbreviation for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. These 4 colours, when combined in varying proportions can be made to produce the full colour spectrum).
Also, for reasons peculiar to the process, we know from experience that some colours do not reproduce acceptably. Some dark shades of Blue print with a distinct Purple hue while some shades of Amber and Gold may appear more Orange. We are constantly mindful of this and will consult you if we think there might be a problem with any colour.
As with all special designs, or where the sublimation process is requested there will be a minimum quantity of vests you have to order as follows:
Initial order: must be for at least 24 vests comprising at least 4 in each size for each gender.
Subsequent orders: a minimum of 12 vests comprising at least 4 in each size for each gender.
The cost per vest will be the same for both initial and subsequent orders unless production costs rise in the intervening period.
Due to a combination of the factors mentioned above production of sublimated vests can take a little longer than for traditional vests. To ensure that we provide you with the best possible end product please allow up to 5 weeks between placing your order and delivery.

We will be delighted to help you design your vest for which we make a charge of £50 for up to 4 styles. This charge must be paid before we undertake any work but will be FULLY REFUNDED when you pay for your first order. All designs produced will remain the property of FASTRAX until your first order is delivered to you.
Running vests don’t make you sweat. Running makes you sweat; it’s what the body does naturally, for reasons we all know.
What becomes crucial is how what you are wearing next to your skin copes with all that moisture. You can get it right and perform to your optimum. Get it wrong and months of hard training may lead to disappointment and frustration. It’s down to the fabric of your vest or running top and how it’s been manufactured.
Wear a very absorbent cotton vest or t-shirt and you end up running with a garment which gradually increases in weight until it becomes a very damp, very heavy 'skirt' working its way towards your knees and probably giving you nipple rub to boot.
If the fabric is an untreated synthetic, it can mean that the body’s moisture is not sufficiently absorbed. A layer of perspiration lies trapped between you and your vest dropping gradually in temperature as you tire and become more “cold and clammy”.
The solution -FASTRAX FASTWIK fabric treated with Permalose. Permalose is a finsh to the fabric which provides tremendous benefits to the wearer - you, the runner.
All in all, your Fastrax vest/top with rapid moisture wickability will help regulate your body temperature and aid performance!
... and if you choose to have your vest made by the Sublimation method ..... you can have any colours you like!
